So, HP is going to sue Oracle for hiring Hurd after he left them. Why? Because he knows too much about HP and agreed not to reveal it when he left the company last month.
I wonder: Why did Hurd jump straight into a position he knew he might be sued for taking? Why not take a bit of time, let things cool down, and then look at where he might want to go?
Even California (a state known to support employee rights to the extreme) might look askance at this hiring. Yes, the California courts have previously said that a company can't keep a person from making a living. But a severance package that could reach $40million might just make them side with HP.
Me? I just think he jumped back in too fast. What was Oracle thinking? They know he has a confidentiality agreement with HP. It probably limits what he will be able to do with Oracle for a while anyway. They should have both waited and let things die down before jumping "into bed" together.
